Science Shorts: Stories by Alaska Women Scientists
In March 2018 I joined forces with several colleagues to host and speak in a women in science story-telling event in conjunction with 500 Women's Scientists nationwide Science Salon for Puerto Rico campaign! Our event at Anchorage's Writer's Block drew quite the crowd, gave the Anchorage community a chance to hear stories from local women scientists, and raised money for science education in Puerto Rico!

Science Now! Hands-on Science Experiences for Anchorage kids:
In the spring of 2016 I initiated a partnership between University of Alaska Anchorage & Anchorage Museum to create a 6-week series of afterschool classes for middle schoolers called "Science Now" designed to introduce students from diverse backgrounds to the scientific process and science-based careers.

Research Experience for Students in the Solid Earth Sciences (RESSES)
In 2012 - 2014 I served as a science and writing mentor for students in the RESSES program run through UNAVCO in Boulder, CO designed to increase the diversity of students in the geosciences.
